Any method to ensure that you are at TDC on the compression stroke will do. You can take off the distributor cap and observe when the rotor is pointing to the cylinder you are setting. I like to hand-crank the engine while watching the valves of the cylinder I am setting, watching when the exhaust and intake valves overlap (TDC between exhaust and intake) and then crank the engine exactly one turn farther. That seems the easiest to me.... Brian
