Update on my H

The '48 H's engine is now torn down to the bare bones!
First she started smoking badly , then the oil pressure dropped to very low than she started knocking. All of this was over a couple of months of useage.
So ow I've torn her down to find out what happened! The autopsie results follow.
The head was badly carboned up, the valve gudes show some wear. The valves still seal pretty well but don't look as thou there's enough left to grind.
There was oil pooled on top of all 4 pistons. # 4 had been blowing oil out the exhaust and all over my new paint!
The cylinder walls are heavily etched by rust and # 4 looks like it is close to going thru the sleave all the way around at the bottom of the stroke. I was amazed that the rings were still in 1 piece.
The rod bearings show quite a bit of wear but the journals don't look too bad, some light scoreing and mic out ok.
Anyone know how to get the rear main cap off? Can I get it off with out splitting the tractor?
I have not pulled the other 2 main bearings yet.
I'm wondering if anyone has a good used set of sleaves and pistons? I just don't have the money now for a new set at this time.
I'm totally dumbfounded that this old tractor engine could even run with the cylinder as bad as they were, I knew when I bought this tractor it would need the engine overhauled. so this isnot unexpected.
Until I win the lottery or something, this old girl is going to have to stay apart.
