Son was a freshamn at PURDUE last fall, During the "Career Days" groups from CAT, JD, Case/IN, Ford/NEW HOLLAND all came to recruit new engineers. Most of the recruiters were Purdue grads. The same discussion came up over which tractor was fastest. So before the day was over You had 4 tractors lined up side-by-side. Ford blue won, followed by Case/IH, then Cat and JD was last I think..... Also, when I was at FARMALL I saw a Hydro 86 run a 686 for about 1.8th of a mile. They raced several times, It was a dead heat. No clear advantage to either one.
