Ann: I know the 444 to be a good tractor but do not know the condition of yours and how much of the work will be done at home or by a shop, etc., all these things come into play. Might I suggest that you call a Dealer or shop you work with and get an estimate to have a new or used engine installed. That would give you something to compare prices to something new. You may also consider calling around salvage yards and pricing used or rebuilt engines. Hope this helps.
