Dave: If my memory hasn't aged too, PRV is peak reverse voltage. I'll guess you don't need to worry about that in a low voltage tractor system. I am suprised you got 7 amps at 12 volts. Thats good enough. The heat sink is just a mechanical way of bleeding the heat off of the diode. A large enough surface soldered or bolted to a cooler surface acts as a heat sink. May not need much but the quality of design has a lot to do with how much is needed. Hope I didn't confuse the issue. If ya got 7amp at 12 volts, go for it. ralph
