You have asked a tough question Tony, I guess it depends on your skills and the availability of a tractor wrecker with M engines. You would have to rebuild the original engine as it was burning oil badly, the cost of a shop welding a hole in a cast block could run up quickly( about $8 per rod), $40-50 per hour shop rate....whereas you might pick up a rebuildable engine for the same price a few hundred.. You could get lucky and find a running engine but most engines that are at the wreckers aren't there because they are out performing every one. You need to see this hole and determine the cost of welding it up , then add an engine kit to the cost especially if you are comfortable doing the motor job yourself.
