Hey, I have a 35 F-20. And mine was doing the exact same thing. I had to get the valves adjusted. After I had the valves adjusted I had my carburator readjusted as well. The air inlet screw on the side of the carburator it should be turned in all the way and then backed out a turn and half or until it runs smooth. Let me know how it turns out. It worked on mine.
