To all: May not be the prettiest part of your tractor but how about this for a fix. Take your worn out toilet plunger, (The kind with a wooden handle) and remove the handle and cut a hole vertically through the center of the plunger. Remove the gearshift knob and slide the plunger down over the gearshift so that it rests on the spring and cotter key of the shift rod. Then place an adjustable hose clamp around the part where the handle screwed in and tighten it up. Still flexible enough to allow movement of the shifter and makes a nice little "raincoat" for the housing. You may be lucky enough to have an old "red" one your bathroom that needs to be replaced right now. Good luck!//FB
