The long bar/short bar tread design was created by Good Year 20 yrs ago to fix a vibration problem in the cab when green tractors made out in Iowa were run at speed on hard surfaced roads. FIRESTONE never had a problem because their tire casings were stiffer. ALL Good Year tires use a soft compliant casing, even their car & truck tires, thats why they wear-out so fast! And if You follow tractor pulling, almost NO ONE uses Good Year tires in the NTPA & ATPA, mostly Firestone! Firestone spent the development $$$ to create better rear farm tractor tires, I don't know how much longer Firestone will be around with this Explorer tire fiasco, but that's what I would have bought. The Kelly-Springfield tire plant in Freeport, IL. is the largest rear farm tractor tire plant in the world, makes or at least 10 yrs ago used to make ALL GoodYear's ag tires. I too would go with an equal length lug design, preferably of a different brand.
