I was fortunate enough to attend an auction on the 7th of July of the former IHC dealership in Goodeve, Saskatchewan. This small town, of less than 100 residents, is slowly fading away, but was full of people that day. This business was closed for years. The sale was for the widow of the former owner and her family. It was just so neat. Like stepping back in time. The building would have dated from the thirties or early forties. The layout was typical of the IH dealerships found all over North America and often shown in Red Power magazine. Parts counter and bins, showroom in the corner with a big door leading to the shop area, big IH sign that was hanging on the building, etc.. There were IH banners and posters on the wall. Many, many NOS and good used parts, as wells as hundreds of manuals and quite a few brochures. I bought a few things but mostly just enjoyed the atmosphere of something I don't think I will see very often. I am too young to have actually visted a place like this so it was nice to see a dealership this old and undisturbed. A great way to spend a Saturday for an IH nut! Have any of you been to similar sales lately?

It was an Allis-Chalmers tractor dealership,
