If you have the E4A mag you have to set the impulse coupler with the little tiny "wire"lever that moves the pawl into the coupler. It is not hard to hand crank it if everything is set right. just be sure that you retard the spark lever!!!!If you don't the crank handle will fly back and could send you to the hospital. If you have the F4 mag, it has an automatic coupler and you just have to be sure the spark lever is retarded when you start it. To retard the spark for starting move the spark lever all the way to the left and then move it back to the right a little less than half way. all the way to the left is "grounded" and it won't start. That is how you shut off the tractor. Don't forget to shut off the fuel when you are done!!!I let a fellow use the 10-20 yesterday and he didn't shut off the fuel and I forgot to check it. I went out to the shed today and 6 gallons of gas had dripped out of the carb into the dirt floor. There must be a tiny piece of dirt in the needle valve. I had the tank sealed but I still get some crud and if I turn on the gas too quick it stirs up what is settled out in the glass bowl and feeds it to the carb.
