I am newcomer to this area as well. I painted my SM this spring using the Omni package from an auto parts store. I bought 1 gallon of paint and a quart of primer. I didn't think i would have to prime everything. I believe that cost me about $85 and included the two additives for the paint, hardner and the solvent(not the correct term but close). I pressure washed it, wiped it down with vinegar, primed it (2coats) and painted it(2-3 Coats). Had to buy another quart of primer and solvent from NAPA. That cost me $50. I sanded the the sheet metal - Hood, gas tank and grill and painted the back side of those as well. It was easier than i thought the paint seemed to cover even though it was thin like water. Looks pretty good but of course i don't know how long it will stick or long before it begins to fade. Mine is used for mowing on a weekend farm. No shows i just wanted to sort of restore to protect it. I have seen several post on here. One really seemed like a great solution for non show. He primed with a thick primer that helped fill scratches and dents. Then painted with a gloss industrial urethane that was used in high wear applications. Very hard, chip, solvent and fade resistent. I didn't save but you can probably search the archives. Sorry about the length but I have been there done that and it might help. Good luck!!

Since this can be extremely difficult, you may want to fabricate the item or purchase a modern replacement temporarily, but eventually, you s
