CL, I have a pair of 240s. The wide front has been on the farm since 1962. A row crop was aquired about six years ago. I mow my 3 acre yard with the narrow front pulling a 72 inch Harper rotary finishing mower. I don't see how any combination of tractor/mower could possibly work better. If you are looking at a wide front, hopefully it has power steering. Mine does not and it is the hardest steering tractor I have ever used. A real workhorse for it's size, but it sure does work your arms. Put a loader on it many years ago and that makes it even worse. These both are great mid-size workers. They are very easy on gas, yet put out a little over 30 horsepower. They were available with a wide variety of hydraulic options and are fairly user friendly. Parts are starting to get hard to come by. Engine parts are available through Case, but frame mounted items are tractor yard searches. I've taken both these apart in my sleep. So, if you are looking at a particular unit, send me an email and we'll go over what you're after. I would buy another good 240 in a heartbeat. Especially a row.
