Thats a tough one. But I think what I am going to tell you will probably sway you to buy the SH. The super H has some advantages over the M. It stears easier. It uses less gas. It has Live Hydraulic. It is about 15% to 20% in 4th gear than an M (about 5 1/2 mph compared to 6 1/2 mph) That saves you a lot more time raking hay than what you think. These are the reasons that I bought a SH. But don't think the M doesn't have advantages to. It has tons of torque compared to the SH and you won't have to wind the engine up to do the same work. It has more weight, which is nice in hilly country like SE Ohio where I'm at. The biggest advantage to a M, is just that, it is an M. It's the H's big brother, it's big, red, powerful, and fun to farm with. I have both a 54 SH and a 41 M, and the majority of the farm work is done with the H, but if I had to choose, I would keep the M. I don't know if I helped you or not. If it was me I would try to talk Mrs. C into both. Although I have not always had a lot of success.
