I have just finished paint my A and I wire brushed and sanded the sheet metal. Then I primed, sanded and reprimed before painting. I used oven clearner on all the oily parts and cheaned them well with thinner prior to painting. Clean is the most important part. I used IH Case Red with a hardner. I came out looking good.
