The 340's had the same size fast hitch as the 400, 450, 560 and larger. The thing that matched it to the 340 was the size of the equipment. I think a 400 had a 3 bottom plow where the 340 could handle a 2 bottom plow. Some of the old sales catalogs might tell what equipment was for which tractor. Where are you located? If you want to use the smaller prong equipment on a 340, you can have some shims made. IH sold them but they are easily made. You drill a hole in them and pin them in the hitch if that is all you have is small prong equipment. I have a mix so I am always changing them around. Keith
