I agree with you that sometimes I sorely wished I had live hydraulics and an independent pto, but I always managed to get around that by being quick on the clutch and the gear shift. Especially when baling hay. The plus side is that the letter series tractors were easier to repair in the field without being equipped with the extra bells and whistles of the numbered series, and we always managed to get the jobs done without the convenient but often problem-plagued torque amplifiers on the SM and numbered tractors. Still in all, the old reliable H is the most often used tractor I have.
