Brian the key to this entire discussion about this IHC 560 is the fact that you said USE this tractor, if the queston was SHOW this tractor my answer would be OK if you are ready for a labor of love to restore and show the one model of IHC tractors that was solely responsible for John Deere overtakeing IHC in market share for good with the 4010/4020 series then go ahead and restore this animal and show it! BUT if you are looking for a workhorse for a small to medium sized operation then look elsewhere, please! I am an IHC fan many hours of my youth were spent on F-20, H & M's etc, the last IHC I operated on the farm was a 1980 1086. The 560 had an Farmall M final drive which was designed for a 4 cylinder 40hp tractor with 3 bottom plow, the shops were full of the first 560's with drivetrain trouble when they put a 6 cyl diesel and hooked 4 and 5 bottom plows to it. I never operated a 560 so others may be more qualified to comment than I but I remember my dad asking the service manager at the local IHC dealer why there were more 560's in the shop than H & M 's when I was about 8 yr old. "Run in the house and get me a...."as I open th
