Wiring Diagram 1948 Farmall

The Diagram I recieved shows Positive Battery Cable going to frame and Negative going to starter. IS THIS CORRECT???? I am looking for another diagram that may help to clear up the proper wiring problems. All wires are now replaced but cant figure out where they go back to. When I connect the wires the Battery Posts Smoke when I turn the Key. Starter does not turn but Silinoid does activate. Starter was checked out and works fine off the tractor. Desperatly need tracter running. All advice will be helpful! Thanks!
