Have you checked the clearance on the valves? I think it is .017" hot. If one is to tight, it could cause the hissing sound and also a loss of power and compression. If you have not checked this, I would as soon as possible. If a valve is to tight, you could burn it out any you would have to pull the head and get the valve ground. Is the hissing comming from the exhaust, intake, or somewhere else?
