I just finished completely going through the bolster on my H. I jacked the tractor up under the frame so the wheels were just off the ground. Then I heated the top gear around the center till it was cherry red. Unless I got overly lucky, the shaft dropped down away from the gear by using the weight of the front wheels. Then I removed the four bolts that bolt the spindle to the shaft. Keep track of bolts here cause one has a knob on top that will keep tires from turning to far in either direction. After removing my shaft, I simply cleaned entire bolster and replaced all bearings, bushings and seals. Be sure and stick the new bushings in the freezer overnight so they fit back in easily. Overall, I didn't think it was as bad as most had warned me. Check shaft for wear also. Years ago, we had to have a shaft from a 300 built up again due to excessive wear... Good luck. It'll be worth it in the end to replace all the parts now.
