Just to let you know tbrake, about an hours worth of work and 37 cents later the really sad looking "O" ring was replaced, and expect the problem will be gone. the local IH dealer had the part. Thanks a lot for the advice. The hardest part of the project was getting the gear off of the shaft to get to the "O" ring. A little creativity and an air wrench finally did the trick.
