Your Key Switch must also actuate the starter as well as the ignition. I would guess that a wire shoould go to the starter cellanoid and another wire go to the coil and another wire going to a fused hot wire. Don't have a diagram but that is ussaully the way it is. If it is different the key ussaully actuates additional items such as a fuel pump for an example. On older tractors the key only went to the coil and there was a seperate push button for the starter. Hope this helps you get it wired up.
