Remove the rocker arm assembly and re-torque the head nuts to 75 foot pounds. Start in the center of the head and work out in a circular pattern. You will then need to reset the valve clearances. I set them at .018 cold. Let us know if the head nuts were way out of torque. I had this problem on the 51H rebuild of 2 years ago. I also had problems getting the #1 exhaust valve to seat. When I checked the clearances a couple of times over the first 30 hours, it had no clearance and wasn't fully closing. Also I recommend you change the oil and filter at this point.
