Growling noise in my W30

I'm looking for some thoughts about the growling noise I get from my W30 while I'm driving it. It doesn't happen until I've been driving it for a while and it stops when I push in the clutch and the tractor is still rolling. It acts like something isn't getting lubricated and when its gets hot, it growls. I have found the grease line to the throw out bearing has rotted off so its not getting greased but the noise isn't happening when the clutch is depressed. I've ruled out transmission since the noise is gone even with the tractor moving. Any body have any thoughts before I tear apart something that isn't the problem? Could it be the throwout bearing even though it seems to turn OK.
