I will post the color that is the closest to the original I could find later. I have the paint can with the paint code out at the farm 20 miles away. You shouldn't find any paint hidden under things you can unbolt as these things were painted after assembly, in other words they were all put together and then painted. The only places I found paint on my 10-20 was the rear firwall next to the engine and where it was covered with grease. The other place was on the underside of the platform in places. Neither place was good enough to get the color to be read with the spectrum anylizer so I checked out all the old paint books the guys at the paint store could get their hands on and several calls to the Dupont Tech support line. As far as the year of your tractor goes there is a number stamped into the engine block that is the serial number of the tractor if the engine was never changed. It is near the water inlet elbow (at the bottom of the block on the left side)and is a cast iron raised pad that is hand stamped. 27 and 28 10-20s also have the manifold that exits through the rear firewall and out the side. They have no holes in the hood side panels for the exhaust. 23-26 has two holes in the side panels, one large one and one smaller one, and 29-39 has one "hole" in the lower corner of the hood sheet and is just notched out for the exhaust elbow. You could have an earlier tractor though with a later exhaust manifold as they were sometimes changed. The replacements from IH (when they were available)for all 10-20s were the late style manifold that has two baffles that you can set to run on Kerosene or gasoline. Hope this helps.

With Ben, anyway, I can tell! He'll be busy working and I’m handing him tools and he says, "give me that..." and I’ve already got it in his hand or "hand me that....."and I’ve got the portable light right where he needed it placed to see. "Run in the house and get me a...."as I open th
