Meach, When I rebuild my engine on my 400, I found that the block was cracked. I replace it with a C-281 engine out of a 450. The pipe that you are talking about come off the valve cover and go to the air breather on the C-264 and the C-281 engines. On the M the pipe came off the back of the head. There should be a fitting on the valve cover from the C-282 engine and all you should have to do is to make a new pipe and hook it up to the air breather. John In Iowa
