HELP: FARMALL H Governor

HI! I have a 1944 Farmall H that I use to plow snow up here in the Upper Peninsula of MI. The ENGINE SPEED CONTROL LEVER keeps popping out and going to low throttle when I am underway. I have to hold the lever in place to keep the throttle up. I don't think it is at the LEVER end (near steering column). Are there any basic things to look for or adjust at the governor end of things?
