Some of you have been talking about shopping for parts and the prices that you are asked for parts. Some days you get a bargain like FF316 and other days you get a shellacing like the prices Redstick was asked for a hood. Well, today I decided to do one of my wrecking yard tours that I do every month or so and I scored big time.My one H hood is pitted badly but restorable..but I thought if I come across one that is better for good money...and I did! The wrecker had several H hoods and I picked out an incredibly straight hood with some rust, but the best I've seen in a while...3 bullet marks on the side of the hood...$20 Canadian...brought the hood home , sanded it out , peened the bullet marks out and I have an excellent hood...its newer and doesn't have a hole for the auxillary tank. So you need to look around and not get in a hurry. Next I asked for brake pans for my H as the set screws had been stripped out of mine...$10 each and they contained brake bands that were like new.. the metal on the bands wasn't even rusted. Now I will have an extra set of brake pads/bands and I will weld new set screw adjusters on my old brake pans and have an extra set of those..all in all I came home with a lot of parts for $40. I will now have 3 hoods for two H's and 4 grills for two H's and I haven't been shopping too hard at all. So guys be patient , look around and when you do get a good buy enjoy it...oh yeah I almost forgot...I've been burned once or twice too! Good luck shopping from Mike in Exeter Ontario

With Ben, anyway, I can tell! He'll be busy working and I’m handing him tools and he says, "give me that..." and I’ve already got it in his hand or "hand me that....."and I’ve got the portable light right where he needed it placed to see. "Run in the house and get me a...."as I open th
