several years ago they had a campaign where they
replaced all of the caps on these old tractors for free. You can by the cap from Case-IH. You
will have to contact Navistar if you want it free
though because it was done while IH was still in
buisness. Navistar ran an ad in Red Power a year
or so ago, so the offer is still valid. I looked
through some of my back issues but couldn't find
the ad. I guess since Navistar is all that remains of International Harvester Corp, they are
still liable for all of the tractors built by IH.
The new cap has saftey baffles in it and is a lot
taller than the original.
