My manual says the safety release valve should be sat at 1200 to 1500#. Did you deadhead the system when you took your reading? You will need to find out what your system should be set at. I get my parts from Steel Wheel Ranch @ 913-548-7437. Mike will be able to tell you what it should be set at and how much a replacement pump will be.
