Cub distributor

On my dad's 1949 Cub, he had it converted over to 12 volts several years ago. In addition to putting an alternator on it, the magneto was removed and another distributor unit was installed. I found the original magneto yesterday and noticed there was a bearing oiling port on it.
On the replacement unit, there is a threaded plug located about midway on the unit just below where the oiling port is on the magneto. What I need to know is this threaded plug an oiling location on the distributor unit. If so, do you fill it up to this hole and do you use the same oil as is in the engine.
