Well, on my first day at a previous job I was sent to see the head mechanic (I am an engineer at an aerospace firm) in our building. I found him laying in a trench installing some hydraulic lines, and introduced myself. He looks up and says "Dang, your a big feller, ain't you?", except he didn't say feller, but it starts the same. I respond "well, not really, you're just laying in a trench and it makes me look big. He looks around and says "By golly I am, well, I'm a dumb feller, ain't I?". He took me into the next room to meet the other mechanic, and he was standing in an elevator pit, about 7 ft deep and looked up and said "Dang you're a big feller, ain't ya?". He had heard my conversation with the other mechanic, and I answered, "No, you're standing in a pit, makes me look big, guess you're a dumb feller, too." Well, the names stuck, I was Big Feller, except the word used wasn't feller, the head mechanic became Big Dumb Feller, and the other mechanic became Little Dumb Feller. Later on we got two more engineers and they were christened Little Feller and Medium Feller. Well, when I started at YT, I had to choose a name and typed in big feller, except using the other word, and decided it wasn't appropriate, so I chose big fred instead. I'm 6'3", 260 lb.
