you can give that old oil pump a new lease on life if the gears and shaft are in ok condition. try taking the aluminum cover off the pump, place a sheet of emery cloth on a piece of window pane on the wokkbench. put the aluminum cover grooved side down and work it on the emerycloth till youve worked all the grooves out of the plate. cut a new gasket and reassemble it. it will have taken all the slop out of the gear surface thereby creating more oil pressure i did it on my 240 and my oil pressure is as good as when it was new.
