Jim - You certain the play's coming from the Behlen unit and not the steering gearbox? Try grabbing the steering shaft ahead of the Behlen with a big vicegrips, then rocking the shaft back and forth while watching the front wheels. If you get more than about 10 - 15 degrees of free rotation in the shaft without the front wheels moving, find and fix the problem in the steering gear (worn bearings, bushing or gears) before messing with the PS unit.
