Carburator Main jet, 53 Soper H

I found that the brass main jet had split and made tune up difficult. I found a place to replace the jet but it seems to be seated higher than the old jet and the adjusting needle is hard to adjust especially when turned 5 off the seat. The needle almost comes out of the case. Is there another way to solve the tuning problem.
