'06 series grips question

I have a 706 I'm getting ready to paint, and I'm wondering if anyone out there has found anything that will approximate the original grip covering on the throttle and shifter levers. These are the levers that have the handle shape made on them and covered with a thin layer of a hard (rubber?) material, instead of a regular flexible rubber grip. Mine are peeling pretty bad, and I don't really want to just use black paint. I was thinking of something like Dupli-color's spray-on bedliner material - it's the right color, durable, and not too slick. Any ideas?
