Denny states a lot of the uses. One additional use that I recall from growing up years in the 50s is that lots of these power units were used on carnival rides. Of course now they are all electric, but back in those days many were run by gasoline engines and many of them were IH power units. As I recall, most usually the 113 Cu In engine used in the A, B and C. I don't ever recall seeing a Cub size power unit and think it would be a bit unusual. As Denny says though, they came in all sizes. But a sawmill with a circular blade as in that era would take more an M or H size unit. The new band saws take less, because the take less wood. We had a sawmill on the farm back when, and I recall once my Uncle tried running it with the Super A. I think he sawed less than one log before giving up and putting the MD back on the belt to the sawmill.
