I've got a 1938 JD G that was "all fuel". My dad ran it on "stove oil" and I believe it was different than kerosine, the stove oil was less refined. He said you would get more work out of a gallon of stove oil than a gallon of gas. I don't know if that was true or not but as has been mentioned at that time stove oil was much cheaper than gas. You had to keep it warm to burn stove oil but then it is probably better to keep them warm no matter what the fuel is. Once in a while if it was warm you could get it started on stove oil but only if you were really lucky and if it flooded you were in for a long day. The small tank was good for about 2 starts.
