I bought a Cub that looked to have good tires, 80% tread, no noticeable checking. Used it in the woods a couple days pulling out small logs. Third day I'm on my out to the back lot when the inside wall on the left rear tire blew out with a big bang and a foot long gash. I was running 12 psi. I think the left side of the Cub came off the ground. When I took the old tires off they were absolutely shot from old age. You would never have known it to look at them from the outside. So, I'm rather leary of old tires.
