I had just bought my F-12 at the spring Portland IN swapmeet and was driving it around when all of a sudden with no warning the single front tire blew out. I heard the explosion loud and clear and started looking for the "kid who threw the M-80 under my tractor". then some guys started yelling stop! and I really wasn't sure what the heck happend until I noticed the front of the tractor was low. When the tire blew it cleared out a place in the gravel about 2 feet in diameter and threw rocks everywhere.that tire was just a 7.50 x10 but it sounded like a stick of dynamite. When I bought the tractor I looked over the tires real good and the front one "looked" great! Once I took off the tire I could see the cord was totally rotten and looked like it was the old style cotton cord. The rears were badly cracked but I thought "they are tough" and I can get another year out of them. HA HA HA One month later I was buying a new set for the rear! The rears didn't totally fail but what happened is that there was a large bruise in the tread on one and water got in between the tube and the rim causing it to rust like mad. I think the rust is what started poking holes in the tube causing it to "slow leak". The tire never had calcium in them but the rim looked like it did! After I put on the new tires I have had no more problems so it was money well spent even though I too don't have much cash to my name.
