Used to work at a tape plant. Most of the adhesives have either an MEK (Methel Ethal Ketone) or Toulene base, both available at any hardware. These should remove the decals but do not know what will do the paint. As others have mentioned light heat works well but may want to try a little solvent. Please try the solvent on a test area first to see how it affects the paint. As someone else mentioned I can not be held responsible any paint damage. Anyway good luck.
