I would be leery of the journal bore in the connecting rod. I have never seen a spun bearing that did not harm the bore, rod or main. I would love, for your sake, to be wrong. Check the bore of the rod carefully for diameter and out of round. The surface of the bore is also critical. The bearing needs good contact woth the bore of the rod to transfer hear away from the bearing. Also check the tang notch. any problems and a good machine shop should be able to fix you up. Doc.
