Has your tractor been converted to 12V with alternator or is it still original 6V/generator? If its been converted, and charging, neg ground is correct, and you only need to reverse the 2 wires on the amp guage. If its still 6V with generator/pos ground, switching the battery will fry your regulator and/or generator. Make sure you're charging first. The amp gage may be telling the truth. You should see a little over 13V at the battery if its 12V and maybe 7Volts if you still have the 6V /generator system.When charging a battery, pos to pos and neg to neg, regardless of "ground" on tractor.
