Those brakes again

Regarding those H brake linings that seem too
tight, I think "Slappy" earlier may be on the
right track.....I removed mine and while the
length of the bands seems OK, the shape was not
round and they didn't fit the drum very well. I
tried to bend the bands a bit, tried one out this
afternoon, and it seemed to fit much better with
almost no drag..
