also, remove the starter before you rock the tractor back and forth too much. You may have broken starter drive gears and/or broken ring gear on the flywheel. If this is the problem, it might never have been corrected and the tractor abandoned. If it is the problem, when you remove the starter and in 5th gear, it will rotate the engine easily by rocking it.
