The set screw on the bottom helps keep the band in the proper shape. You might want to remove that to give yourself some wiggle room on the cover. Once you get the cover off, you will then have to use penetrant where the shaft is rusted into the transmission frame. That shaft goes into the frame about 1 inch. Once you get that wiggled out, I recommend you turn that on a grind stone to polish it up so it will turn freely in the hole on the transmission housing when you reassemble. Good luck!
