Yesterday it was easy - we wanted to declare war, but we didn't know whom to declare war on. Today we know that some of the hijackers were Egyptian and Saudi nationals. Those countries have been our allies at times. Should we declare war on Saudi Arabia? For sure they don't think like we do, they don't dress like we do, but we would just be kicking ourselves in the butt to do anything to Saudi Arabia in retaliation - we would be be buying extra high priced crude oil from our enemies if we obliterate a country like that. And I am sure that there are a lot of good moderate people - families like us - who call that home. We Americans would not want to be universally condemned because of a few rotten apples in the barrel. I am not a pacifist by any means - I just hope the problem is not so complex that it takes so much time to figure out a just resolution that the giant goes back to sleep. And I know now that if five guys by the name of Achmed or Ahmed rent the house next door, I'm calling the FBI.
