You've received some pretty good advise. I would try those suggestion first because they're the easiest to accomplish. However, if you still have the problem as I did, you'll need to open the gear box. The parts picture that BOB[PA] sent you will help. I found that the bearing on the top of the side of the steering gear shaft was worn and sloppy, I replaced it. The tapered steering gear shaft was slightly worn and I had built up and re-sized. The steering gear shaft goes through a bronz bushing. That was my primary problem which went away with a new bushing. The book sayes they are pre-sized, maybe they were when the book was printed, but now they need resizing. When I was done, I have about a 1/2" of play at the steering wheel which may be less than when new.
