To set everyone straight, a 330 utility is virtually identical to a 350 utility except for the engine. The engine is identical to that used in the Farmall 340 and International 340 utility. Furthermore, a Farmall ot International 504 engine will drop right in and give the 330 more power than even the 350 utility had. Many transmission parts from the 300 utility will also fit. My uncle bought a new 330 utility in June 1958 and as a boy, I spent many hours on it. It was a good tractor and was a big improvement over the Ferguson 35 or the Ford series. Incidently the Ferguson 35 was one of the lousiest tractors I ever drove. The only good thing about it was the engine. The Z134 Continental was good in contrast to the rest of the tractor. In fact the brakes were so lousy as to be almost non existent. The 330 was brought out to be more price competitive with the Ferguson 35 and the Fords than the larger engine 350 was. There is no question which was the better tractor The 330 not only had TA, fully independent PTO, larger tires, and weighed 400 pounds more. In fact the Ferguson 35 with 12.4 -28 tires was so useless pulling that I once hooked our Farmall Super C (with Fire Crater pistons) drawbar to drawbar with the Ferguson 35. and I beat him. I dragged the Ferguson 35 backwards for 6 feet before we stopped the pull.

It was on one such Saturday in the early 1940's when Sam was 16 years old that he ended up in Dennison, Kansas to watch a demonstration of a new tractor being put on by a local dealer. It was an Allis-Chalmers tractor dealership,
